Heather, Bailey, Dannii and Jessica consider Jace's responses to questions the class has asked about their pen-pals. Responses will be analysed, organised and presented to the rest of the class.

A group of students from our class had the opportunity to communicate via teleconference with Jace Hobbs, our 'go-between' with the Burmese children living in a refugee camp on the Thai-Myanmar border.

I love the title of this effort; 'Real Connections'. This is a big hello to all the young persons that are reaching out to refugee kids on the Burmese/Thailand border and a hello just as hearty even if you are just considering contacting them. In a way, they are prisoners, not of any crime, but of circumstance. They belonged to a tribe of people in Burma that stand in the way of the criminal government there making profits off the land. Its sad to say, but they just have a great misfortune,,,,for now. It won't always be this way and we who reach out to them to make the "real connection" are doing such a great thing for them, but also for ourselves.
I want to encourage you to write to them and open a wonderful contact for them and you with the outside world. And ask me any questions now or when we teleconference again. I really appreciate you and i know some Burmese kids that are excited too. Jace Hobbs
